STUDYSOM ACADEMY – PLATFORM POLICY
Effective Date: September 7, 2025
Welcome to StudySom Academy (“Platform”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). By accessing or using this website, including enrolling as a learner or submitting courses as an instructor, you agree to comply with the following Platform Policy, which incorporates the Terms & Conditions, Instructor Agreement, and Learners Agreement.
If you do not agree, you must not use the platform.
1. General Use of the Platform
• StudySom Academy provides an online learning platform for students and instructors.
• Users must use the platform lawfully, ethically, and responsibly.
• The platform may modify, suspend, or terminate services at any time without prior notice.
Consequences: Misuse or unlawful activity may result in account suspension, permanent termination, or legal action.
2. Account Registration & Responsibilities
• Users must provide accurate, up-to-date information.
• Accounts are personal and non-transferable.
• Users must maintain the confidentiality of login credentials and report unauthorized access immediately.
Consequences: Sharing accounts or providing false information may result in account termination.
3. Courses & Intellectual Property
• Instructors retain ownership of their course content.
• By uploading courses, instructors grant StudySom Academy a non-exclusive license to host, market, and sell their content.
• Learners may access course content for personal use only and may not reproduce, distribute, or sell content.
• All content must be original, lawful, and free from copyright infringement.
Consequences: Unauthorized use or copyright infringement may lead to course removal, account suspension, or legal action.
4. Instructor Agreement
Eligibility
• Must be 18 years or older with valid identification.
• Must comply with all applicable laws regarding content, copyright, and taxation.
Course Submission Rules
• Courses must meet quality and ethical standards.
• Must include accurate titles, descriptions, learning outcomes, duration, and pricing.
• StudySom Academy may review, approve, reject, or remove courses at its discretion.
Revenue & Payment
• Revenue-sharing follows the Instructor Agreement policy.
• Payments are after deductions for platform fees, taxes, and other charges.
• Instructors are responsible for tax reporting.
Instructor Obligations
• Maintain professional conduct.
• Respond to student queries and feedback timely.
• Keep courses updated and relevant.
• Do not upload offensive, misleading, or illegal content.
Consequences: Violations may result in course rejection/removal, suspension, withholding of revenue, or termination of the account.
5. Learners Agreement
Eligibility
• Must be 18 years or older or have parental/guardian consent if under 18.
• Must provide truthful registration information.
Course Enrollment
• Courses are for personal learning purposes.
• Learners may not copy, reproduce, or distribute course materials without permission.
Learner Conduct
• Engage in respectful, ethical, and professional behavior.
• No harassment, discrimination, cheating, or plagiarism.
Payments & Refunds
• Course fees must be paid via approved payment methods.
• Refunds are governed by the Refund Policy.
Consequences: Violations may result in account suspension, course access revocation, and potential legal action.
6. Platform Rights & Liability
• StudySom Academy may modify, remove, or suspend courses or user access for legal, technical, or quality reasons.
• Courses are provided “as-is”; we do not guarantee employment, certification, or outcomes.
• Users access the platform at their own risk.
Consequences: Users cannot hold StudySom Academy liable for losses related to course use, outcomes, or technical issues.
7. Privacy & Data
• Personal data is handled according to our Privacy Policy.
• Users consent to the collection, storage, and processing of data.
Consequences: Unauthorized use of personal data may result in account suspension or legal action.
8. Termination
• Accounts may be terminated for violations of the Platform Policy.
• Users may delete their account, subject to policies regarding purchased courses and revenue settlements.
Consequences: Terminated users lose access to courses or earnings and may face legal action for serious violations.
9. Modifications
• StudySom Academy may update this Policy at any time.
• Continued use after modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
Consequences: Failure to comply with updated terms may lead to account suspension or termination.
10. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
• This Policy is governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Somalia, under the oversight of the Ministry of Commerce & Industry.
• Any disputes will be resolved under Somali law by the courts of the Federal Government of Somalia.
12. Acknowledgment and Signatures
By signing below, you acknowledge that you have:
• Read, understood, and agreed to the StudySom Academy Platform Policy.
• Agreed to comply with all rules, obligations, and consequences outlined in this document.
• Confirmed that the information provided during registration is true and accurate.
